Rental terms

1. Scope

These terms and conditions apply to the hire of the seminar rooms and outdoor areas at Hummelhaus Weimar, Marienstraße 8, 99423 Weimar (lessor: Kevin Deobald) to companies, associations, course leaders and private individuals (hirer).

2. Conclusion of contract

By submitting the online booking, the hirer makes a binding offer. The contract is concluded upon our booking confirmation by e-mail. In the case of enquiries, the contract is only concluded upon our confirmation.

3. Prices and payment

The prices shown at the time of booking apply, including statutory VAT. Flat rates (for example a half-day or full-day rate) are applied automatically where they work out cheaper. Times booked online must be paid for online at the time of booking: by card or direct debit (via the payment service Stripe) or with PayPal. For enquiries for which we prepare a quotation, the method of payment agreed in the quotation applies: either a deposit on acceptance of the quotation, which is credited against the hire price, or payment on invoice. Invoices are payable without deduction within 14 days of the invoice date.

4. Use of the rooms

The rooms may only be used during the booked period and for the stated purpose. Setting up and clearing away form part of the hire period. The stated maximum number of persons must not be exceeded. The house is an inhabited listed building: please be considerate of residents and neighbours, especially after 10 pm.

5. Liability

The hirer is liable for damage to the rooms and equipment caused during the hire period by the hirer, their participants or guests. The lessor accepts no liability for items brought onto the premises by the hirer, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.

6. Cancellation

If the hirer wishes to cancel a booking, they are asked to notify us in writing as early as possible or to cancel the booking in their customer account.

• up to 7 days before the start of the hire: free of charge
• 6 to 3 days before the start of the hire: 30% of the booking price
• 2 days before the start of the hire: 70% of the booking price
• from 1 day before the start of the hire: 100% of the booking price

The booking price is the total price of the booking including any additional services booked, excluding the deposit. One day means 24 hours before the start of the hire. If a booking is made within these periods, the rate applicable to the period in which the cancellation falls applies in the event of cancellation. Amounts already paid will be refunded, less the cancellation charges, via the payment method used.

7. Programme

Events organised by hirers may appear in the house programme. The participants’ sole contractual partner is the respective organiser.
